Os idosos são a faixa etária com mais registros de calotes no SPC Brasil (Serviço de Proteção ao Crédito).

Em maio, um em cada quatro inadimplentes tinha 65 anos ou mais.

O cadastro contabiliza dívidas com atraso no pagamento superior a 90 dias.

De acordo com a instituição, a inadimplência dos idosos tem se mantido nessa média de 25% desde o início deste ano, quando o levantamento que considera a idade dos devedores começou a ser realizado.

Flávio Borges, gerente financeiro do SPC Brasil, aponta algumas razões.

Primeiro, quando a pessoa se aposenta, costuma haver uma redução na renda.

Depois, há um aumento nos gastos com a saúde, com itens como remédios e exames.
